Welcome to R&D
The R&D Software development department is split into business segment teams and a platform team. Business segment teams deliver the SW for the end products, whereas the platform team controls and develops the common functionality and features for our instruments. The R&D Software department comprises of more than 70 people within software development and makes up for about 1/3 of the R&D organization in FOSS - and we are growing.
The job
We are looking for an object-oriented developer to join a great team. Your primary task will be to help us maintain and optimize our stable and proven C++ software and your deliveries will play a key role in our innovative and market leading instruments. You will work closely together with other software developers and the software PO in the team. We follow an agile development process.

Your primary tasks will include:
- Back-end development of applications for analytical instruments using C++
- Contributing and innovating how “we do things”, while suggesting new technologies
- Participating in clarifications and documentation of new features
- Ensuring the code can be tested automatically
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Develop software for instrument projects and maintenance
- Take responsibility for the implemented solutions
- Support your team members by participating in code reviews
- Troubleshooting and bug fixing
- Follow agile processes
- Be active in improving your team’s quality
- Participate in the daily teamwork
Your daily work will be at the FOSS Innovation Center in Hillerød, Denmark.
Qualifications

- Experienced SW Engineer/Developer
- Expert in C++ - preferably with knowledge of MFC
- Good at visualizing and documenting designs
- A strong team player that is ready to learn and improve
- Experience with Agile methodologies and scrum development processes
We will evaluate your competences within software development using an external programming test framework followed by an interview with one of our principal software engineers.
Personal skills
You have an analytical mindset and a methodical approach to software development, as well as the ability to bring a positive attitude into the development team. You have courage to flag problem areas, and a flair for doing this in a positive and constructive manner.
People respect you, and like to work with you, because of your technical competencies and ability to communicate complex concepts in a concise manner. You master the art of simplicity, and you promote continuous improvement to the way of working for you and your team.
